GLEICHEN ANNOUNCES COMPLETION OF ACQUISITION OF
78.8% OF MORELOS GOLD PROJECT

Vancouver, British Columbia – November 17, 2009, Gleichen Resources Ltd. (TSXV-GRL) (“Gleichen”) is pleased to announce that it has completed its acquisition of 78.8% of the Morelos Gold Project from Teck Resources Limited through the acquisition of Oroteck Mexico S.A. C.V. from Teck subsidiaries, Teck Metals Ltd. and Teck Exploration Ltd. (collectively “Teck”) for a purchase price of US$150 million, 1,560,857 common shares and 12,443,218 special warrants. The special warrants issued to Teck have identical terms to the special warrants issued in connection with Gleichen’s $241.5 million special warrant financing completed on November 12, 2009. Each special warrant may be exercised for no additional consideration into one (1) common share and one quarter of one (0.25) share purchase warrant. Each whole share purchase warrant entitles its holder to purchase one additional common share for CDN$1.30 until November 12, 2011.

Gleichen also announces that, Donn Burchill has resigned from Gleichen’s board of directors and Terry MacGibbon and Fred Stanford have been appointed to Gleichen’s board of directors. In addition, Fred Stanford has been appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer of Gleichen in place of Michael Murphy (who will remain as a director of Gleichen).

GLEICHEN ANNOUNCES PROPOSED ACQUISITION OF 78.8% OF MORELOS PROJECT
Gleichen Resources Ltd. has entered into an agreement dated Aug. 6, 2009, to acquire 78.8 per cent of the Morelos project from Teck Resources Ltd. via the acquisition of Oroteck Mexico S.A. de C.V. from Teck’s subsidiaries, Teck Metals Ltd. and Teck Exploration Ltd., for a purchase price of $150-million (U.S.) and a 4.9-per-cent stake in Gleichen postfinancing. Oroteck owns 78.8 per cent of Series A shares in the capital of Minera Media Luna S.A. de C.V., holder of the concessions comprising the Morelos project.
The Morelos project is an advanced-stage gold exploration property located in the state of Guerrero, approximately 180 kilometres to the southwest of Mexico City. The Morelos project consists of a group of seven claims totalling 29,046 hectares. Teck is the operator of the Morelos project in a joint venture with Goldcorp Inc. Teck owns a 78.8-per-cent interest in the Morelos project, with Goldcorp owning the remaining 21.2 per cent. For details of the property please refer to Teck’s 2008 annual information form.
Michael Murphy, president and chief executive officer of Gleichen, stated: “Gleichen is delighted with having been chosen as the successful bidder for the high-quality Morelos asset. The transaction will transform Gleichen into a significant gold company. We look forward to working with the community and leadership to successfully develop the Morelos project.”
As a result of this company-changing transaction, Gleichen will adjust its board and add several senior and experienced mining individuals with executive, corporate and board experience. Terry MacGibbon has been assisting Gleichen during the bidding process and pending successful closing of the acquisition of Morelos, will join the Gleichen board. Mr. MacGibbon is the chairman, president and chief executive officer of FNX Mining Company Inc. In addition, Gleichen has recruited a number of highly skilled and experienced senior management persons with exploration, engineering, and operating expertise.
Closing of the transaction is expected in the fourth quarter. Closing is subject to receipt of all required shareholder, regulatory and third party consents, satisfaction of customary closing conditions, and the completion by Gleichen of a financing to raise minimum gross proceeds of $175-million (U.S.). Gleichen Resources Ltd. has made an application to the TSX Venture Exchange to extend the term of its warrants to July 5, 2010.

Ten million warrants were originally issued on July 5, 2007, and are exercisable at 60 cents per share until July 5, 2009, provided that if the closing price of the company’s common shares is above $1.20 for 20 or more consecutive trading days, the company has the right, on notice to the warrantholders, to accelerate the expiry date of the warrants to 20 business days following the date of such notice.

The amended warrants will expire on July 5, 2010, provided that if the closing price of the company’s common shares is above $1.20 for 20 or more consecutive trading days, the company has the right, on notice to the warrantholders, to accelerate the expiry date of the warrants to 20 business days following the date of such notice. The exercise price of warrants will remain the same.

The warrant amendment has been approved by the board of directors of the company.

ALDER RESOURCES LTD. OPTIONS CANADIAN CREEK, YUKON, PROPERTY

Alder Resources Ltd. has signed a letter of intent option agreement with Cariboo Rose Resources Ltd., of Vancouver, B.C., giving it the option to earn a 60-per-cent interest in Cariboo Rose’s Canadian Creek mineral property, located in the Whitehorse mining district of the Yukon Territory, 160 kilometres south of Dawson City, Yukon. The property is also 50 kilometres southeast of the Underworld Resources Inc.-owned White Gold project and approximately 25 kilometres southeast of Kaminak Gold Corp.’s Coffee property. The Canadian Creek claims cover an area of approximately 4,800 hectares.

Alder can earn a 60-per-cent interest in the property by completing certain cash payments (totalling $250,000), issuing a total of 250,000 shares in its capital and fulfilling designated exploration expenditures on the property totalling $2.5-million, within the times specified, all to be completed by June 18, 2013. Alder has given a firm commitment to complete the first $250,000 of the work by June 18, 2010.

Alder has also committed to finance and complete an NI 43-101-compliant report on the property by Jan. 31, 2010.

Upon Alder earning a 60-per-cent interest in the property, the parties shall be constituted a joint venture.
